The plateau at Hudun, and how it became ours.
The land under SREC has been acquired by purchase from the community of Hudun for a permanent institution. This page sets out the provenance of that acquisition, the condition of the site, and the pathway from customary agreement to registered title.

Community assembly
Elders and landholders of the Hudun area convened and agreed the sale of land for a permanent equestrian and racing institution, recorded through customary assembly and written undertaking.

Survey of the acquired parcel, boundary marking, and confirmation of adjacent grazing rights and access corridors with neighbouring landholders.

Lodging of the parcel and the institution's interest with the regional administration, and confirmation of the site's designation for sporting and cultural use.

Title issuance
Issuance of formal title in the name of the registered institution — the milestone at which construction capital can be deployed with security over the asset.
What the site is planned to hold.
The masterplan is phased so that racing can begin on a minimum viable configuration and the wider club, academy, and museum follow as capital and title milestones are met. Nothing shown here is built.
Racecourse & track
A turf and dirt configuration suited to flat racing and endurance starts, oriented to the prevailing plateau wind.
Stabling & quarantine
Phased barns, veterinary facilities, and an isolation block to meet international movement and welfare requirements.
Grandstand & paddock
A compact, shaded grandstand and parade ring sized for early meetings and expandable in later phases.
Academy & training
Riding school, apprentice jockey programme, and stable-staff training tied to local employment.
Heritage museum
A cultural centre on Dervish-era horsemanship, Somali equestrian tradition, and the story of the land acquisition.
Community infrastructure
Water, road upgrade, and power that serve both the site and the surrounding Hudun settlement.
