Is SREC an operating racing authority today?
No. SREC is pre-operational. It exists as a founding initiative of Milgo Foundation with an agreed land acquisition at Hudun, a drafted governance framework, and registration in progress.
Nothing on this site should be read as a sanctioned fixture, a licence, or an operating racecourse.
What is the relationship with Milgo Foundation?
Milgo Foundation is the parent body and current steward. It appoints the founding board and holds fiduciary responsibility until SREC is registered as an independent institution.

Do you have confirmed international partners?
No. SREC has no confirmed external partners, affiliations, or endorsements at this stage. Any racing authority, federation, or government body named on this site is described as an engagement we are seeking, never as an existing relationship.
Land & site
Who owns the land at Hudun?
The land was acquired by purchase from the Hudun community through a community assembly. Formal title registration is in progress; until title is issued, the site is held on the basis of that purchase and community agreement record.
The land and site dossier documents the provenance, terrain, access, and titling pathway.
Risk & context
How do you address the security and political context in Sool?
We treat it as a material factor rather than a footnote. SREC is a community-rooted, non-political sporting and heritage institution, and its licence to operate rests on the same community that sold the land.
We do not publish security assurances we cannot substantiate. Partners conducting diligence receive our current operating assumptions and constraints in writing.
Why should a Gulf racing authority engage at this stage?
Because the founding decisions — rules of racing, integrity code, welfare standards, studbook design — are still open. Early partners shape a national racing framework rather than inherit one.
Funding
What stage of funding are you at?
Formalisation. The partnership page sets out the phased plan and what each phase funds. We publish phases and use of funds rather than a headline figure, because scope is still being surveyed.
How is partner capital governed?
Through the board and an independent audit engagement established in Phase 0, before any construction capital is drawn. Partnership terms, reporting cadence, and audit arrangements are covered in the diligence pack.
Racing & horses
Are the fixtures on this site real?
They are indicative. No fixture is sanctioned, ticketed, or confirmed. Dates depend on title issuance, construction, and the establishment of stewarding and veterinary capability.
Is there a Somali studbook?
Not yet. Creating one is a core objective: a documented, protected record of the bloodlines already present in the Horn, with the intention of pursuing international studbook recognition over time.
This website
Are the images real photographs?
No. Historical, equine, and architectural visuals are illustrative and clearly labelled as such. They convey intent and mood and will be replaced with commissioned art, archival material, and photography as the project progresses.
